About Garry Du Toit
Frequent excursions to Kashmir in search of the fabled Kashmir blue sapphire eventually brought Garry Du Toit to Bangkok to study gemology which led to working in gemological laboratories in Bangkok, New York City and now back to Bangkok as Senior Manager (Colored Stones) at GIA Research (Thailand). During his extensive career Garry has contributed to several gemological publications and spoken at a number of conferences and seminars on a wide variety of gemological topics.
Garry’s presentation will contain a multitude of interesting gemological snippets including unusual gem materials identified, interesting inclusions in various materials submitted, and discussions on a host of other items of interest that have passed through the GIA laboratory in Bangkok over recent months.
